The more I think about that method,
the more uncomfortable it makes me
feel because of its sheer manipulative
aspects while not leaving the elements
to fall where they would naturally,
mathematically fall. Maybe it’s my
Bourbaki leanings.

the first note (actually a rest) occurred on Cage’s birthday in 2001.
Looking at the sound changes, they all take place on the 5th day of a varying
month, so it is inevitable that some of the events will occur in September,
on his birthday.
