Victor,

Thank you very much for your email; it was a welcome distraction, much like those that Cage himself encouraged...

I can remember watching this piece on Youtube last year, actually, and I'm glad you've brought it to my attention again, It's very beautiful, and John is indeed a great performer, isn't he. (I love the way he just sits there at the end, too, very still.)

I look forward to hearing some more works by you.

With thanks and best wishes,
Jeremy

Rod, Stefano,

I hope that you're well, and thank you for your very kind words — I'm delighted that you liked the piece so much. It was very warmly received by John Tilbury, also, so I'm rather happy with it.

As such, it's perhaps unfortunate that it's not being shown in the 'Cage Mix' exhibition, which accompanies the 'Every Day is a Good Day' exhibition I conceived for Hayward Touring; instead, I'll be showing a new text installation, made with the support of the wonderful people at the John Cage Trust:

I do rather like this, too, though.

Thanks again for your comments.

Best wishes,
Jeremy

Well, I have to say that the "Preparations" video
has to be one of the best that I've seen in a long while...
certainly the best video that I've seen this year.
Beautiful poetics - absolutely sublime. Thanks Jeremy.

I must agree with Rod here. I saw the preparations clip which I had at first skipped (there have been shared too many good links to click-on on this list recently:-)... very nice video. Thanks for sharing it Jeremy.

Once again this little snippet reminded me how it would be easy to find beauty in the simplest things if I could only open my eyes and ears more. Funnily enough (but maybe not), I had my room cleaned while hearing the prepared piano and the ambience sounds perfectly coupled with Tilbury's tweaked notes:-)

Stefano
