I knew John Oswald from my SONDE days, so when I heard about his being in trouble with Michael Jackson’s crew, I mentioned it to John one day. We didn’t go into plunderphonics per se.
Collage, on the other hand, he considered a foundational 20th century form.
As always, with Cage, chance operations, and the dodge from intention, is fundamental. So Oswald’s intentionality sets plunderphonics someplace else. (This last statement is my interpretation, not Cage’s).
