Here is an article that talks about the harms of mutual orders, although it
is in the context of the courts, I believe there are similar issues for
campuses. My biggest concern is that it becomes one more reasons victims of
relationship violence would choose not to report the abuse. As the article
says, victims are safer not having any no contact order versus having a
mutual order.

Hello All,
I wonder if your institutions issue no contact directives after reports of
sexual assault or domestic violence. If they do are those orders mutual? I
have concerns about no contact orders being issued against students/
survivors who have not been accused of any policy violation. Your thoughts?
