Colleagues,
 
I fall into the camp of feeling that we need to publicly counter this type  
of hate speech with our own empowered speech each and every time it  occurs.  
We need to give no ground, regardless of who the antagonist of the  moment 
is.  
Mac Donald is just the Katie Roiphe or Camille Paglia of this  moment, but 
her lack of originality does not make her thoughts any less  hurtful.  I 
speak 
as one of the many people she misquoted or took  out-of-context to make her 
points.  
 
To that end, I have challenged her to a live debate via webinar, and she  has 
accepted.  We are finalizing a date, but I expect to be able to get it  
organized before the end of March.  We'll put the word out, and make  efforts 
to 
keep the cost of participating much lower than our usual events, so  that any 
of 
us who wish to question her or make our points will have a public  forum to 
do so.
