Since the interviews were from 1990 and 1991-92, I doubt the 1986 premiere is the one you have in mind.

Maybe my english is not correct. Is « John Cage says that he should have attended rehearsals of But what about the noise of crumpling paper […] by the Percussions de Strasbourg as they were going to premiere it in 1986 » more correct ?

I remember to have read that he was invited for at least one rehearsal but declined and regretted it as the performance was not at all satisfying…
