Please no.  Mailing lists are much better for work-flow

I personally prefer a mailing list. Of course there must be a way for those who wish to unsubscribe from the mailing list to become unregistered.

Silence's yearly volume of emails isn't 'intolerable' after all (218 in 2012, 220 in 2011, 117 in 2010, 221 in 2009, 125 in 2008, 141 in 2007, but I canceled some of them) and forums are asynchronous - to use an IT popular term these days - and a more detached system to organize a community.

If the majority of the people on the list would like to turn it into a forum however, no prob at all.

Stefano
