I'm very surprised to hear that Cage didn't like jazz music, since he 
actually composed a jazz-like piano piece called "Jazz Study."  It was 
recorded by pianist named Joshua Pierce for the Wergo label in the 
mid-1990's; my copy is on a Wergo anthology called "Music of Our Time."
