Here at Binghamton University, we have a student run volunteer ambulance service who provides free rides to all three local hospitals for SAFE exams.  Two of those hospitals have agreements with the University that they will provide taxi vouchers for the return ride, if the student has no other transportation options.

Hello and Happy New Year!

I'm reaching out to see if any of you can provide any examples of your campuses services related to transporting students during the evenings and weekends to the hospital to receive a SAFE exam. My campus is about 30 minutes away from the nearest hospital with a SAFE program and we currently provide taxi vouchers to students who do not have their own car or can secure transportation through a friend or family member but are looking into what other options we may be able to provide. It would be most helpful if any of you have other solutions or suggestions we may be able to adapt for our campus.

Much thanks,
Jess Myers
