Love it, Lauren. We have to get TONS of students involved, informed and empowered in this cause. If student activists attend the Policy Institutes, they will all have the power of knowledge around the legal liability for schools, the way the federal laws work, and more! Then your event could be almost a “summit” for them to take the knowledge and decide how to deploy it collectively, with synchrony when helpful, and strategically! If there is interest in concurrently holding some sort of advocate summit we are located near a major international airport and would be happy to explore that opportunity and donate space. LB From: Guttentag, Karen S. [] Hi All, We too are in the process of implementing a new peer advocate program, and are hoping to launch at the end of the semester . I’m wondering if there might be any interest in holding a small conference for schools with programs like this to connect, explore challenges, share best practices, etc.? Although we’re far from centrally located, we’d be happy to host here in Middlebury, VT. This could be a great opportunity for student advocates to begin to build networks across campuses as well. Thoughts? Karen Karen S. I would love to connect with some of you who have this in place on your campus. Or, if you had this available in the past and it didn't work out, I would like to hear from you as well. Does anyone have policies/protocols in place to identify this response process? Are you willing to share? Please email me if you're willing to discuss. Thanks so much! Nikki Godfrey, MSW
