Lauren,

We have 2 programs out of my department on our campus one is proactive and educational and the other is reactive and supportive. The reactive program is heavily connected to the support services on campus and in the community. We are also making connections with communities that many of our students come from. This allows us to get our students into community emergency housing programs in our community and other areas that our students may be in. Our residence life program is also willing to work with us and will assist in getting students moved into new residence halls or issuing orders similar to PPO's to help keep perpetrators away from students. I found it extremely helpful to go through the process of getting to know all the programs personally and setting up good reciprocal relationships so that we are all able to respond to student needs appropriately.

Hello SAPC community,

My name is Lauren Gibson and I am a newly hired Prevention Specialist at the University of Delaware working on domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking prevention. I am happy to be a part of this list serv.

We are currently looking at developing a protocol for Emergency Housing for students who need a temporary place to stay due to an emergency, such as SV,DV or stalking situation. We are interested in hearing from other schools and their emergency housing protocols/procedures. Do you have a set location used for the emergency housing? Are there any costs to the student for utilizing the emergency housing? We'd appreciate any information you have.

Thank you,
