FREE WEBINAR -- THE ATIXA CIVIL RIGHTS INVESTIGATION MODELNovember 15th, 2011 at 12-1:30pm EST Presented by ATIXA Executive Director Brett A. Sokolow, Esq. Attend this free webinar and learn about the ATIXA Civil Rights Investigation Model, a set of policies, procedures and practices designed to meet OCR expectations for campus compliance with Title IX. Many campuses are challenged with modifying student conduct and personnel procedures to more closely align with the April 4th, 2011 OCR Dear Colleague Letter on Campus Sexual Violence. ATIXA, in collaboration with the law firm NCHERM, has drafted a set of model procedures that are designed to integrate a fair and comprehensive civil rights investigation capacity into your already existing campus hearing and due process procedures for students and employees. This model will be a revelation for those who have long struggled with the recognition that campus conduct processes and adversarial hearings are an ineffective way to address complaints of campus sexual harassment and sexual violence. As ATIXA Executive Director Brett Sokolow lays out the model in this free webinar, you'll intuitively connect with it as a more humane, more efficient, and more effective way to process these complaints. Yet, the ATIXA model doesn't have to replace existing procedures, and Brett will discuss how you can integrate the model into your existing procedures seamlessly while still transforming your campus paradigm for remedying all forms of civil rights grievances, not just gender discrimination. This webinar will start with a brief overview of ATIXA, the newly launched Association for Title IX Administrators, and the benefits of joining for all campus and school administrators and coordinators who have Title IX-related responsibilities. Then, Brett will discuss for an hour the model, its application, function and integration. The webinar will end with Q&A between the audience and the presenter. Why is this webinar free? We want to introduce you to ATIXA, and hope this webinar will help you to see the value of membership. We promise no hard sell. We think ATIXA makes its own case for membership and we just want to make sure you have information on member benefits and the wide array of training programs ATIXA offers. We'll keep it short. Will this webinar explain the ATIXA Civil Rights Investigation Model comprehensively for free? Yes, it will. We believe this model will benefit all colleges and universities, and we don't want to put a price tag on your ability to understand it and how it works. We will, though, put a price tag on the actual written model template. If you want that, you'll have to join ATIXA. It's free to members. Still, we want to give you something for nothing, and so the model policy piece of the ATIXA model will be available as an electronic download for all participants. If you like it and what you hear during the webinar, we'll hope you'll join to access the other 20 pages of information and template language of the model. Sign up for this free webinar today. Space will be limited, and slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Tech specsOnce you register, you'll be given the call-in number for the event, and the web url to access the materials. There will be no slides for this event. It is audio-only. You may pose your questions for the presenter by email prior to the event or during the event to .
