University of Montana uses student volunteers to provide advocacy services on campus. Students attend a 40-hour advocacy training, and then weekly meetings to check in and provide opportunities for continuing
training. Our office has two full-time staff positions supervising and training the students. The student advocates also occasionally lead peer education presentations on campus, but most of the education is done by the professional staff and currently the
presentation curricula are developed by the staff (we are in the early stages of organizing a peer education program).
We also employ a few students through Americorps to help us with awareness event planning and basic office operation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Megan Selheim SARC Outreach Coordinator Curry Health Center

Do any institutions have peer education services – e.g. student groups that provide programming and crisis intervention? And if you do, are they student-run or are they run by the administration
with the assistance of students? Wade Wade Felty
