Hi, The University of Illinois uses peer educators to deliver sexual assault education workshops to all first year and transfer students. The peer educators complete a semester long training course for academic
credit prior to applying to facilitate. As the coordinator of sexual assault education through our Women’s Center, I handle all the logistics of setting the workshops up with University housing staff, but the students do all of the actual educating. Hope this helps, Jennifer Scott, M.S. Do any institutions have peer education services – e.g. student groups that provide programming and crisis intervention? And if you do, are they student-run or are they run by the administration
with the assistance of students? Wade Wade Felty
