Hi Liz,
UVA has a separate board for sexual assault cases. It is a group of faculty, administrators, and students who are extensively trained (about 16-20 hours for new members) by experts in the field. Often it's Brett Sokolow. But it's good to get a range
of perspectives. We're still revising our policies/procedures, so this is the old process, but you can get a general idea of the board at http://www.virginia.edu/vpsa/assaultprocedure.html.
Our sexual assault home page is at http://www.virginia.edu/sexualviolence/.
Take care,
Claire

One part of this is to create a separate judicial board to hear sexual misconduct cases. I’ve been looking at policies and procedures from a variety of schools
and haven’t seen any that are doing this. I’m wondering if any of you have formal or informal hearing boards for sexual misconduct cases. If so can you share your policy or procedure that talks about it? I’m especially interested to see anything you
have set up about qualifications of the board members, how they are (chosen) appointed, and any training requirements.
Thanks
-Liz
