At Randolph Macon College, we have a Dean’s Sexual Conduct Review Board (DSCRB) for short, an idea I found from Simpson College. It is entirely faculty and staff, appointed by the Dean of Students upon the recommendation of the Office of Judicial Affairs. We began the practice in Fall 2010. Our Sexual Conduct Policy should be located here: http://www.rmc.edu/Offices/~/media/0E06F13371B2443CA9068021F36ECA53.ashx

Subject: Judicial board specifically for sexual misconduct cases

We are in the process of reviewing and revising our conduct code and sexual assault policy.  One part of this is to create a separate judicial board to hear sexual misconduct cases.  I’ve been looking at policies and procedures from a variety of schools and haven’t seen any that are doing this.  I’m wondering if any of you have formal or informal hearing boards for sexual misconduct cases.  If so can you share your policy or procedure that talks about it?    I’m especially  interested to see anything you have set up about qualifications of the board members, how they are (chosen) appointed, and any training requirements.

Thanks

-Liz
