Hey VAAers, several things on the menu this week:

1) Social meeting this Thursday at 7pm! Meet in front of the chapel and we will walk to the corner to hang out (and grab something to eat if you're hungry)!

2) Apple picking at Graves Mountain this Saturday! For those coming, meet in front of Thornton Hall at 9:57am. We will be leaving Charlottesville at 10am and returning sometime mid-to-late afternoon. 13 people signed up on the doodle poll and we have 3 drivers = 15 seats. If you can no longer attend, or if you didn't sign up but would like to come, email me (stn4at) ASAP so I can make sure we have enough car seats (heh) for everyone!

3) Next Thursday we will be having our first TEDxVAA meeting of the year! Spread a meme by giving a short 5-10 minute talk on something you're passionate about or find interesting or think is cool! In past, members have talked on interpreting Finnegans Wake, chaos theory, the bible as literature, how eyes work, and a diverse range of other topics. I strongly encourage you to give a talk, even if public speaking isn't your thing (good practice and we don't bite!). Depending on interest, if we have more talks than time allows, we might have another TED talks at the end of the semester.
