it's a sign of my age that I occasionally am astonished, annoyed, or otherwise discomfited when I ask someone to define or clarify a term I don't know and their reply consists only of a link. (Such replies often, though not always, come from people younger than I.) I wonder if some of these unidentified links are innocently sent by people motivated by this particular mindset.

for some of us, everything is relevant to john cage.
but, of course, i know what you mean about various commercial
seduction attempts. and i appreciate your efforts to get them off the
list, in spite of my small joke ...
