Dear Silence,

Please take note of this upcoming festival and research summit which is centered on John Cage and his influence. The deadline has been extended to 25 March 2012.

CALL FOR PAPERS: nief-norf Research Summit (deadline extended)
1-3 June 2012, Furman University

The nief-norf Research Summit is currently soliciting proposals for papers and panel discussions for its 2012 gathering, held June 1-3 at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. This conference is part of the nief-norf Summer Festival: http://www.niefnorf.org/

To acknowledge and celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth, the 2012 nief-norf Research Summit will explore John Cage’s works and his influence on contemporary music and visual art. In addition to paper presentations, the nnRS will feature a Musicircus on Friday, June 1 and a keynote presentation by Kyle Gann on Saturday, June 2.
