Dear all,

One of my final year Music students is focusing her dissertation on Cage's Imaginary Landscapes. At this point in time we only have the score for No. 4 but should have the others in the next week or tow. There are a number of questions which we are struggling to find answers to and hope that list members could maybe shed some light:

1) Why are numbers 2 and 4 referred to as marches?
2) Does Cage employ a micro-macrocosmic structure in all 5?
3) We assume that chance techniques are employed in just 4 and 5?
4) Are there any connections between the Imaginary Landscapes and the Constructions, other than Imaginary Landscape No. 2 was originally a fourth construction?
5) Why are they called Imaginary Landscapes?

Any information or advice regarding appropriate literature on these topics would also be very much appreciated.

Another area, quite unrelated, where I'm looking for help is regarding my email address with the Silence List. I registered many years ago using my private address but would now like to use my work address. I've tried to register another address but each time I click on the appropriate link nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Many, many thanks for your time,

Katrina Burton
