Free and Low Cost Resources From The State University of New York

Dear Colleagues,

Happy Friday (we hope). We know that the summer has been no easier than the spring, and deeply appreciate the higher ed community and the way we try to support each other. While we are saddened that we cannot be together for a SPECTRUM conference this month, we are grateful for the support of SUNY and partners to host a Digital SPECTRUM, August 24-28. We are excited for incredible speakers. Link and registration info below. $25 per person (scholarships available from the Student Conduct Institute).

At the same time, we are also aware of the pressures you are facing to meet the Title IX deadline of August 14. In an effort to support our colleagues, we are pleased to be able to release our toolkit, 14 Things To Do Before 8/14. Beginning July 1, every SUNY Student Conduct Institute member will have full access to the model policy and documents, samples and templates, and training material, with no additional cost or per person charge.

Registration Open: Digital SPECTRUM 2020

SPECTRUM is the nation’s largest education conference devoted to preventing and responding to sexual and interpersonal violence against members of the LGBTQI+ community. The 2020 SPECTRUM Conference has gone digital and will be taking place August 24-28, 2020.

Registration is $25 for general admission and free for Student Conduct Institute Members.

Title IX Regulation Toolkit

We’re less than two months out from the Title IX Rule’s implementation date of August 14th. To help our higher ed colleagues, here is your Title IX Checklist: 14 Things to do Before 8/14. The checklist is accompanied by tons of written and webinar resources available on our SCItations blog. SCI is here to help you with every step – coming in July, all of the resources mentioned on this list will be available to members in a Toolkit via the web platform.

Not yet a member of the SCI? Join the dozens of institutions across the country who have joined this month. Apply for membership or request a call.

SUNY Student Conduct Institute

SUNY Student Conduct Institute grows to 22 states!

When we left our offices in March, the SUNY Student Conduct Institute had member institutions in 3 states.

Now, just a few months later, we are working with well over 225 institutions (and counting) from 22 states.

The Student Conduct Institute runs as a not-for-profit. The $5,000 annual membership covers a whole institution for a whole year.

That's it.

·    No upsells.

·    No "gold levels" available only to the few.

·    No per person charges.

Higher ed working to train higher ed.

Full Title IX Final Rule training, model policies, model process documents, tech training, and guidance for all covered staff is included for all institutional members at no additional charge (see our “14 Things To Do Before 8/14: and how SCI can help” checklist”).

Joint Guidance on Title IX Regulations

The Joint Guidance now has dozens of pages of high-quality content on the Final Rule covering nearly every aspect of the Regulations and Preamble (with more being added all the time). Access at no charge.

You can also follow @SUNYSCI on twitter for breaking updates.

Free SPARC Course: Tuesdays at 3:00 PM EST

Now with COVID-19 adding additional financial pressure to all institutions (including ours), we’d like to offer you a little extra help. Last year we released SPARC 2.0 and with it a 125 page implementation guide to assist you through the process.

This year we’d like to help further by offering a weekly class to break down how to launch your own version of SPARC (and/or TRAC). This will occur every Tuesday at 3:00 PM EST.

Free SPARC Course

Tuesdays

at 3:00 PM EST

Rebecca Harrington, LEAD Developer of SPARC and TRAC and Health Educator at SUNY Oneonta and Lisa Campo, SUNY Paralegal and Manager of the SPARC registration system are offering this weekly course, Tuesdays at 3pm.

Each week will tackle one chapter of the implementation manual and teach you the tech skills you will need to customize your own SPARC and TRAC. Oh, and as you might have guessed, we aren’t charging for this weekly series either.

With best wishes for good health,

Elizabeth
