Dear All,

To ensure better outcomes for students in all grades, Stop Sexual Assault in Schools is addressing sexual harassment/assault in the K-12 "training" ground for campus sexual assault.  This #SAAM, SSAIS is tweeting several unique PSAs each day. We'd appreciate your support for this K-12 campaign by retweeting  from https://twitter.com or reposting from Facebook

We'd like to make you aware of a new resource (includes Juliette and March Grimmett on this list, alongside national experts).  Please consider sharing this announcement:

Sexual Harassment: Not in Our School! is a practical resource for families, schools, SARTs, and community organizations. It was developed by Stop Sexual Assault in Schools (SSAIS), a national nonprofit founded by two parent educators whose child was sexually assaulted on a school field trip.  The free video+action plan has been accepted to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center library.

Stop Sexual Assault in Schools (SSAIS.org) requests that you share the new video+action plan Sexual Harassment: Not in Our School!  The comprehensive free education is intended for a wide audience including K-12 parents, middle and high school students, schools, SARTs, and community organizations. The video follows a high school gender equity club interviewing nationally recognized education, legal, and LGBTQ experts about their Title IX rights and learning from counselors, advocates, parents, and students.  It offers simple steps and engaging activities to address sex discrimination in K-12 schools. Media reports.

In one of the video's scenarios, a victim learns about the sexual assault forensic examination process, the role of a victim's advocate, mandated reporting, confidentiality, and students’ Title IX rights from a SART responder (56:16). This scenario further illuminates the unique challenges victims face and the ways advocates and educational institutions should respond to sexual assault in the school setting. To learn more about the video, visit a list of content, or click on the timings in the YouTube description field.

SSAIS requests your coalition members to share the video+action plan on their websites, with their networks, with community organizations and schools.

Best,
ew
