I don't know if my experience is useful, Holly, but I've tried an awful lot of sex crimes cases as a prosecutor and I would *much* rather have a jury than a bench trial. Sure, you can always hope for a wonderful judge and there are some god-awful jurors out there, but I found at least in my work, you have a better chance of good people having a say when there's 12 of them. I am exploring the investigation/resolution procedures used on college
campuses in cases of sexual assault. Specifically the pros and cons of
utilizing a single decision maker verses a panel to determine the
ruling of the case. Does anyone have any insight into this topic they
could share with me or have resources to suggest?
Thank you in advance.
