Hello. I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I cannot find a past discussion on this in the chaotic whirlpool of emails labeled "Inbox."

I have spent a lot of time and effort getting to know and understand Title IX and was finally beginning to feel comfortable with it and all it encompasses. However, I then began reading and having discussions on Clery, who is now deemed a Campus Security Authority, etc. and am now finding myself uncertain of some things. Here are a couple of my questions:

1. On your campus, who is deemed the confidential adviser (to meet Title IX requirements)? Is it a counselor from the counseling center? Someone from a separate office?

2. Is the confidential adviser and victim advocate two different entities/positions? My understanding is that victim advocates (as well as directors of Counseling Centers) are now considered CSA under Clery. Under Title IX, Confidential Advisers must report aggregate data once per month to the Title IX Coordinator, but this is different than Clery reporting which is required of CSAs.
