Healthy Campus Summit

Building a better future: inclusion, diversity and health equity on campus

 

On Wednesday October 12, 2016, the University of South Carolina will host the annual Healthy Campus Summit, a free, one day conference providing colleges, universities and community organizations with information, tools and resources for engaging a campus community for the benefit of creating a healthy campus environment.  We welcome faculty, students and staff from academic institutions and community organizations of all sizes, including administrators, health promotion and wellness professionals, researchers, and healthcare personnel.

 

We are accepting presentation proposals for this year’s Healthy Campus SummitBuilding a better future: inclusion, diversity and health equity on campus.  Presentations will be 45 minutes in length and content will preferably include information, tools and/or resources relevant to academic institutions shaping a healthy campus around the topics of:

  • Identifying and mitigating barriers for access to programs, services and healthcare for diverse student populations; including minorities, LGBTQ, disabled, veterans, low income, homeless, etc.
  • Fostering a culture that is welcoming and inclusive for students, faculty, staff and visitors of various backgrounds and demographics
  • Utilizing policies, systems and environmental strategies to create health equity on college campuses

 

If interested in submitting a proposal, please complete the Call for Proposals Form by Sunday August 14, 2016 to be considered for this year’s summit. Notifications will go out the week of August 22 regarding which presentations have been selected to be included in the program.
