I agree with Juliette’s assessment of Sex Signals – from what I’ve seen of the program, it portrays rape as a result of miscommunication, not predatory behavior. Based on what I have seen of it, I would not recommend it.

I have to say that I've had many concerns about the sex signals program. They may have changed, so please correct me if they have, but while their approach is very engaging, I find their message to be very dangerous. Specifically that they focus on rape being primarily a miscommunication. This of course gets us back to rape myths, puts the responsibility of rape and its prevention on women/survivors and also completely minimizes the accountability of the perp and essentially dismisses lisaks research and all we know about perp intentionality...

Again, maybe their messaging has changed, but this was certainly happening last year.

The 2 prior years we contracted with Tamika Hall (very good speaker) and Tim Collins (an actor who does wonderful drama regarding sexual assault prevention). Tamika was focusing on dating violence and sexual assault a couple of years ago, but her current videos seem to indicate she is going in a different direction currently.
