We are bringing Stephanie Gilmore, Ph.D-an activist, educator, and writer,  to campus next Monday.
She speaks about rape culture on college campuses, and highlights how students can and do confront sexual violence on campus.

Her description of her presentation is:
"This interactive, multimedia presentation examines rape culture on college campuses, using up-to-the-minute examples of activism among students, expert opinion, and observational analysis to explore how students can and do confront sexual violence against women, students of color, and LGBT students (obviously overlapping categories). Most notable in this presentation is that it shows how students have mobilized in the past AND how they are engaging in vital and important activism to un-learn rape culture and create college communities that marginalize violence in all forms. It addresses bystander intervention, prevention, and awareness in the context of campus cultures. It is designed to share with -- and learn from! -- campus and community organizations."

Not sure what her availability is but you can contact her through this website: http://www.soapboxinc.com/speakers/stephanie-gilmore/

Hello All,

We’ve just received a small budget to fund a speaker for our Sexual Assault Awareness event on April 10th.  We would love someone who is dynamic and engaging.  Preferably  they would be someone with experience with working with minority and extremely diverse groups. I’m hoping this group will lead me to someone awesome!
