We are having Zerlina Maxwell come on April 1!
“Zerlina Maxwell is a political analyst and contributing writer for EBONY.com, Feministing.com, theGrio.com, BET.com, and RHRealitycheck.org. She writes about national politics, candidates, and specific policy and culture issues including
domestic violence, sexual assault, victim blaming and gender inequality…. She is also a weekly guest and fill in host for
Make It Plain with Mark Thompson on Sirius XM Progress and democratic commentator on Fox News and MSNBC. She has a law degree from Rutgers Law School | Newark and a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University. Zerlina speaks at nonprofits,
conferences, colleges, and universities about feminism, rape culture, race, and politics.”
Ms. Maxwell is known in part for her appearance on Fox News’
Hannity in March 2013, where she turned the tables on victim-blaming and stated that women should not have to purchase a gun, avoid wearing skirts, and the like to prevent rape, and that the responsibility ought to be on perpetrators to not rape.
As a result, she received an onslaught of social media hate speech directed at her, including death threats. (More @:

Ms. Maxwell now uses her political expertise and experiences to provide education to others about how to dismantle rape culture. She also utilizes her experiences as an African-American woman and a survivor to illuminate many of these issues. Best wishes! Patricia L. minority and extremely diverse groups. I’m hoping this group will lead me to someone awesome!
