Dear Colleagues:

As of August 19th, University of Michigan's new Sexual Misconduct Policy for Students will be in effect.  If you're interested in reviewing the new policy, please visit the policy website at studentsexualmisconductpolicy.umich.edu

This new policy is the result of a thirty month iterative process of engagement, reflection and revision between campus executive officers, faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders.  During this drafting process, U-M instituted an interim policy and this final policy document also incorporates learning gleaned from administering that policy for 18 months. 

Over the next months, we will continue to develop and expand the website content with additional tools and resources.  Additionally, I expect our Public Affairs staff to share this policy more broadly--but I wanted trusted colleagues and collaborators such as you to have access to our policy as soon as possible.

I welcome your thoughts, questions, feedback, and I encourage you to share the policy with other interested parties. My thanks to everyone who provided support and assistance--either directly or indirectly--in our process.
