Hi Jill,

I would encourage you to look at validated scales in the literature because 
in addition to some of the concerns already mentioned, wording-related 
effects on data can be tricky to manage, and question construction isn't 
always as straight-forward as it seems. Additionally, a validated scale would 
give you the added benefit of being able to compare results with other rates 
obtained using that scale. The CDC has some really excellent resources in 
this area, including a document called "Measuring Intimate Partner Violence 
Victimization and Perpetration: A Compendium of Assessment Tools," which I've 
attached as a pdf. I'm happy to talk more about this if you like. Good luck!

We are about to conduct a large scale anonymous sexual assault survey.  We 
are considering one or two questions directed at offenders.

Do any of you have thoughts on what you would ask?  How specifically would
