At Northwestern, my students have brought Nancy Schwartzman to campus (she's an excellent speaker) and use her documentary "The Line" as a sexual violence teaching tool. Nancy's latest project is an iPhone app for college students -- see below for details. Of course, this is a tool which places responsibility on potential victims for preventing sexual violence, but still is an interesting idea in the context of a comprehensive prevention program.

I need help getting home safely" with GPS coordinates to friends - so you don't need to stumble home alone, crash out on a stranger's couch, or get a ride from someone you don't know. "Call me and pretend you need me. I need an interruption" - so your friends can give you a quick and easy out if you're cornered at the bar and desperate for a way to excuse yourself. The Circle of 6 iPhone App has 8000 downloads already and has been plugged by Cosmo as part of the "Cosmo Fights Campus Rape" campaign! Our goal for our first year is to have the App in the hands of 30,000 college students. Nancy is heading out on a college tour to campuses across the country to host demos for Circle of 6 and show "The Line".
