Hi Connie,
One campus I'm familiar with created a "Friends of Survivors" program - a
la an "ally" training - where people received the basic information on how to
understand the impact of sexual violence, provide brief support, and then
REFER, REFER, REFER! We never got it off the ground at the University of
Illinois, but I think on most college campuses, providing a "certificate,"
maybe a sticker or poster where participants can display for their students
and colleagues that they have a little understanding of sexual violence and
could be someone to speak with, etc. would really go over well. Good luck!
Peace,
Ross

Subject: Training for Faculty
Hello Colleagues,
I am looking for methods to enhance training and education for our
faculty and staff at Saint Mary's College. This training would target
individuals who may witness the impact of violence on students or have
students disclose experiences to them. However, providing support is not
a primary responsibility within their positions. I would like the
training to increase the knowledge base of participants as well as teach
basic intervention skills.
If you have materials you have found beneficial for your campuses or
recommendations for programming models, please send them my way.
Thanks in advance!
Peace,
Connie
