Some of our best advocates are men-we have had 4 male advocates at one time
and research shows that for 95% of the females who experience rape, they tell
a male first. Perhaps if you look at some of this research it may help you

Subject: RE: Question about Response Staff
I want to clarify my question; I want to know any schools have a male staff
as the main provider of crisis intervention and response.
We are in the process of hiring a replacement for my position, and we have a
male candidate. The coordinator at Emory is responsible for both prevention
education and response, and some of the folks here have some concerns about
hiring a male to serve as the main response contact. Particularly, they are
concerned that female survivors will not feel comfortable with a male
advocate.
I want to do some benchmarking in order to provide some information and
reassurance to the search committee.
Thank you!
Aline
