Position Opening: Executive Director, CADA, Inc.
Organizational Description: The Committee Against Domestic Abuse, Inc. is a
non-profit domestic violence and sexual assault victim's advocacy and shelter
organization based in Mankato, Minnesota that has been engaged in its mission
to provide shelter, advocacy, and education services for 30 years. The
shelter program provides emergency housing to survivors of domestic violence
and their children. Advocacy and supportive services are provided in the
shelter as well as through community-based victim service programs serving
seven South Central Minnesota counties. CADA also houses a
parenting-time/supervised visitation program.
Description and Duties: The Executive Director (ED) is full-time salaried
position who provides overall leadership, management, and planning for the
organization. This ED reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Duties:
¡ Manage day-to-day personnel, budget, administrative, communications and
outreach activities
¡ Ensure compliance with all governmental and grant regulations and
organizational policies.
¡ Work with the Board to establish strategic priorities, policies, and
programs, and to administer such programs.
¡ Supervise a management team of three mid-level employees who supervise an
additional 25 employees some of whom work off-site.
¡ Interpret and communicate CADA's mission, goals, and programs to outside
organizations and community members, especially strategic partners.
¡ Develop and administer standards and procedures related to human
resources, staff development, budget and facilities.
¡ Prepare, distribute, and maintain reports to board, funders, state, and
others.
¡ Provide initiative, leadership, and coordination of fundraising and grant
activities, especially regarding state grants.
¡ Actively advocate for the needs of victims/survivors in the greater
community.
¡ Travel to statewide conferences, training, and local outreach offices.
¡ Some evening and weekend work likely.
Requirements:
¡ Master's Degree with 2-3 years related experience preferred or
¡ Bachelor's Degree plus 4-5 years related leadership/management experience
in non-profit or human services sectors
¡ Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in work with victim/survivors
of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
¡ Strong organizational, oral, electronic and written communication skills.
¡ Commitment to issues of cultural diversity in social services.
¡ Ability to provide leadership in an exciting, challenging, and complex
work environment.
Salary: Salary and benefit compensation package commensurate with education
and experience. Relocation reimbursement negotiable.
