Dear colleagues,

The NRCDV is pleased to invite you to join us for a webinar on the topic of
"Violence in the Lives of People Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing." This
webinar will be offered on Tuesday, July 28th from 4pm to 5:30pm (EDT) OR
Wednesday, July 29th from 10am to 11:30am (EDT).

This webinar is part of a series of resources and information developed by
the NRCDV, and its collaborators, on issues related to violence against women
with disabilities and Deaf women. This past June, the NRCDV posted a special
collection on this subject on the National Online Resource Center on Violence
Against Women (VAWnet.org). You can view this collection and provide feedback
by going to http://new.vawnet.org/category/index_pages.php?category_id=966.

Gretchen Waech, the webinar presenter, is the former Executive Director of

Coalition. Gretchen is a proud Deaf woman and adult child of hearing parents
with particular expertise on the intersection of domestic and sexual violence
and the Deaf culture. This webinar will provide participants with information
about the Deaf culture as well as tools for advocates and other professionals
to better meet the needs of Deaf victims/survivors of sexual and domestic
violence in local communities.
