I should add that during her case against the
city/police, she called herself "Jane Doe" to
protect her anonymity. She is from a small town in
Connecticut and everyone had already read all about
her case in the newspapers. The police believed she
was covering up an affair because of a baseless
anonymous tip call. Rumors were flying around the
town and she wanted to protect her identity. In
calling her agency "Jane Doe No More" she was
literally lifting her own anonymity and focussing on
her strength and survival.
