Most people are not aware that there is a trademark registration for
"Walk A Mile in Her Shoes", just as most people are not aware that there
is a trademark registration for "Take Back the Night"

I have not heard of the trademark holder having ever litigated against
any of the hundreds of "Walk A Mile" events that happen around the
country. Has anyone else?

Like Take Back the Night, I think most people working to raise awareness
about sexual assault or relationship violence recognize that Walk A Mile
can be a useful way of communicating their message. Personally, I have a
few problems with the event, but I cannot deny that it is a very popular
and media-friendly way to do outreach. Many rape crisis centers and
university prevention programs in California, for many years, have used
the concept for that purpose. I think it would be accurate to say that
most of them have not used any kind of pre-packaged curriculum to have
the event... just their own knowledge and a lot of shoes.
