Subject: Questions Pertaining to Sexual Assault Prevention Campaign at
American University
Dear Mrs. Kaplan,
My name is Robert Schwartz and I spoke to you earlier today concerning
the creation of a sexual assault prevention social marketing campaign for
the American University campus. Please find below a list of questions that
my class and I would like answered as soon as possible (Please feel free to
pick and choose which questions to answer as I know some may overlap). If
you have any further questions I may be contacted by phone at 847-910-3741
or by email at
.
Thank you once again for sending out
these questions via your list serve and I look forward to hearing from you
and members of your list serve soon.
Sincerely,
Robert Schwartz
Questions
1) To have a successful campaign, do you believe our class should target the
survivors/victims of sexual assault, the perpetrators of sexual assault,
campus administrators, or another "target audience/group?". If you could
please note why you believe that target group would lead to the most success
among our campaign that would be greatly appreciated.
2) What sort of social marketing campaigns concerning sexual assault have
already been done on your campus? Have they been successful? Have there been
any unsuccessful programs? What made them successful/unsuccessful?
3) If I were to say that my class wanted the ultimate purpose of our
campaign to be lowering the rate of sexual assaults that occur on American
University's campus, what would be the best way of attempting to achieve
this goal?
4) If I were to say that my class wanted the ultimate purpose of our
campaign to be lowering the fear-level associated with reporting sexual
assault, what would be the best way of attempting to achieve this goal?
5) Are there any target audiences that in your opinion would be not
beneficial to create a campaign around (in other words, would it be worth
creating a campaign solely geared towards perpetrators?)
6) Do you have any other advice, links, research and or material that may
guide my class in narrowing its focus and coming up with a target group,
secondary groups and purpose for our campaign?
7) Once we narrow our focus, purpose and target group would your
organizations/schools be interested in partnering with us on our campaign?
Thank you for taking the time and effort to answer these questions. My
class truly appreciates all the answers you have provided here today.
