Hey all-
I just watched this video and think the parts with men who support the
drugging/rapist are useful (terrifying) for trainings but as far as the
messages for potential victims, it is missing the point in many ways in my
opinion.

First, predators are looking for women who are self-intoxicating. So the
focus on drugging with something other than alcohol as THE danger, needs to
be clarified with information about the much more likely occurrence of
targeting because of intoxication.  In addition, the recommendation that
drink test strips/cards be used is downright bad advice...when these
products have been tested they have proven to be useless.  There are
countless drugs that can be used to facilitate sexual assault and even if
the cards did work, it would only be on a subset of the substances.  To make
women think they are safe because they have "tested" their drinks is truly
dangerous.

I am wondering if the whole thing is just an advertisement for the program
the women are doing.  If their advice is buy test cards and watch your
drink, let's hope no one is really paying them for their presentations.

Also, when are people going to stop using the term "date rape"?  Where's the
"date" in some guy drugging and raping a woman he meets at a bar?
