Marilyn Kile's suggestion to work with journalism classes is right on
target. I am often asked to speak at university journalism classes in my
area and they "interview" me and often do a story that gets printed in their
college paper or on other college friendly media. It is an excellent
opportunity to open the student's eyes about victim advocacy issues, such as
campus acquaintance rape. The professors love the opportunity for their
students to have some "press conference" experience. For the interviewee,
it is a relaxed and rewarding experience, much mellower and less stressful
than normal public speaking. I am sure many journalism professors would be
open to scheduling any of you who would contact them with this idea.
