I teach a sexual assault advocacy class which is based on the 40 hours
required for sexual assault advocates in the field, but is more academic
based. I wasn't sure if you were looking for information on a class
specific to advocacy or if you are looking for one that is for peer
educators.
I teach it as an adjunct through our Human Relations Department and the
Women's Studies department - the departments alternate teaching it every
other year. You just have to find a faculty or department that is
interested in sponsoring it. Often the departments like it because the
classes almost always fill to capacity right away and I sold it as a way
for their students to be marketable for the job search after college.
Most of our departments have a course number that is titled: Advanced
issues in... so I initially taught it under this course number until it
was approved as it's own class.
If you are interested, in this particular class, let me know and I can
send a syllabus.
