Hi Sharon,
I think you're probably talking about Donald McPherson. He's a former
all-american and NFL football player who now does anti-violence work in You
can reach him at Adelphi University and at
We hosted him here at Harvard in the Spring and he was wonderful.

Several years ago, at the Safe Schools conference in Orlando, I saw a
former NFL player present on his sexual assault/harassment education
efforts. Well, I'm pretty sure he is a former NFL player. I remember
thinking at the time, that he'd do a great job getting through to
athletes on sexual violence.
Well, our athletics dept., particularly football, is looking to bring
someone in to talk with the men about this issue. I was hoping to
find some contact information for this man, or someone like him. The
delivery is going to be crucial with this group and I want to help
athletics find someone to whom the players will really connect. I'm
so excited they're taking this step (instead of doing this "in
house"--within athletics) and want to be supportive every step of the
way.
Does anyone know the man of whom I speak (or someone like him)? For
some reason, I think his name may be Don and he may have player for
the Dolphins--but that could just be SportsCenter brain infiltration!
Thanks in advance for any help!
:) Sharon
?Part of the reason I wanted to come back (for a 22nd season) was
because I hoped for a better finish for the team,? he said. ?And I?m
hoping my final year and my final game didn?t end with me being
helped off the ice.? Steve Yzerman 9/16/04
