Several years ago, at the Safe Schools conference in Orlando, I saw a former NFL player present on his sexual assault/harassment education efforts. Well, I'm pretty sure he is a former NFL player. I remember thinking at the time, that he'd do a great job getting through to athletes on sexual violence.

Well, our athletics dept., particularly football, is looking to bring someone in to talk with the men about this issue. I was hoping to find some contact information for this man, or someone like him. The delivery is going to be crucial with this group and I want to help athletics find someone to whom the players will really connect. I'm so excited they're taking this step (instead of doing this "in house"--within athletics) and want to be supportive every step of the way.

Does anyone know the man of whom I speak (or someone like him)? For some reason, I think his name may be Don and he may have player for the Dolphins--but that could just be SportsCenter brain infiltration!

Thanks in advance for any help!

:) Sharon

“Part of the reason I wanted to come back (for a 22nd season) was because I hoped for a better finish for the team,” he said. “And I’m hoping my final year and my final game didn’t end with me being helped off the ice.” Steve Yzerman 9/16/04

Me too.
