I'd also like to proclaim how great Reanae McNeal was. She presents a
fantastic(!!!) performance called "Don't Speak My Mother's Name in
Vain", that details the lives of seven black women through the past 100
years and how their lives have been affected by racism, sexism, and
violence against women. http://www.rmcneal.com/womanist.php Moreover,
many speakers (and this isn't their fault always) are pretty expensive,
but Reanae provided many presentations and interaction opportunities for
a very affordable cost. Great for both campuses and the community, and
it begins some fantastic dialogues.
I've also heard the No! documentary was fantastic. It was screened on
our campus a few weeks ago, and students/staff/faculty/community are
still talking about it.
Peace,
Ross
