POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
University of California at Santa Barbara
Rape Prevention Education Program
Assistant Director

This position reports to and works closely with the RPEP Director and
is an integral member of the UCSB Women's Center staff. The Assistant
Director is responsible for working with and advising student peer
education groups; planning and implementing educational programs for
students and staff, including student staff trainings; developing and
maintaining educational materials; and providing back-up advocacy and
crisis counseling services for the RPEP Director.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge or experience with sexual violence issues.   Knowledge and
understanding of sexual violence in a college community.  Experience
preparing and delivering effective sexual violence education
presentations.   Sensitivity to cultural, racial, ethnic and sexual
diversity.   Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse
backgrounds. Understanding of sexual violence as a societal issue.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a
team and to build coalitions and partnerships.  Commitment to activism
for social justice.
