Description: The Virginia Genetically Engineered Machine (VGEM) team is a synthetic biology group that competes in the annual iGEM jamboree. VGEM has won a gold, silver, or bronze medal at iGEM every year since 2007. VGEM became an official UVA CIO in 2012.
