Subject: Health Humanities and Ethics Club centered on Death and Dying

Description: HeArt of Medicine (HoM) is a group that seeks to better understand what it means to be a meaningful healthcare provider. Our yearly workshops focus on better coping with death and dying, grappling with stories of patients and providers, and practicing how to have honest, vulnerable conversations. Our emphasis is on what provides the greatest challenge, but also the greatest reward in medicine, reconciling with our limitations as providers and facing the suffering of our patients with grace and humility. In all of our workshops, the Schools of Medicine and Nursing partner together, and while the topics may appear grim, these events are meant to be both educational and fun.
