Subject: Growing for Change

Description: Growing for Change works to develop stronger social ties between the University of Virginia and Westhaven community through collaborative efforts in creating individual gardens. Through the co-design process, these gardens will tackle issues of limited space and land ownership posed by public housing developments, provide access to nutritional foods and gardening programs, and work to empower community residents. We seek to redefine access and envision a healthy and inclusive community among all stakeholders in which harmonious social relationships will prosper and access to a healthier food environment is possible.
