Subject: UVA GMS Scholars

Description: We are students and Alumni of the University of Virginia who are given the opportunity to be part of the Gates Millennium Scholar’s community due to our excellence in academic standing, leadership qualities and community services. We live by the quote “to whom it is given, much is expected.” Our purpose is to work with the Gates Millennium Foundation and give back to our community by reaching out to high school students and motivate them to apply for this great scholarship. For our personal interest, we organize events to cultivate our leadership skills, extend our network connection as well as in large our presence within the University. Most importantly we hold each other accountable for maintaining high scholastic rank on the grounds of the university.
