Subject: Friends of Appalachia

Description: Friends of Appalachia is organization of students who have a passion to better the experience of Appalachians both at the University as well as the Appalachian region. Our missions include creating an environment at the University of Virginia that cultivates growth and comfort as Appalachian students and alumni, better servicing the area of Appalachia by enabling students at the University, and producing a constructive relationship between the University of Virginia and other higher education institutions in the area. Our mission is carried out with an appreciation for the Appalachian culture in mind.
